KEY DATES

Register online and come to our registration day at the Camden Haven Surf Lifesaving Club to meet the team and get your free rashie. Other merchandise is also for sale.

Before the season, nippers must complete a preliminary swim.

The competition evaluation for the ocean swim will be on the first nippers day.
Our nippers program runs fortnightly on Sundays and board training fortnightly Friday afternoons.

What we do
We'd love your help! Volunteering with Camden Haven SLSC is a great way to give back to the community. Whether it's setting up for Nippers, helping with barbecues, or earning your Bronze Medallion, your support makes a difference!
We also need adults to become accredited carnival officials—without them, our Nippers and adult competitors may be limited in competitions.

PRE-SEASON
Preliminary Evaluation Swim
All Nippers aged 6 to 14 must complete an annual swim and float evaluation during registration. This ensures they meet the basic swimming and survival skills needed for water activities.
Ocean Swim
Nippers aged 9 to 14 are also required to complete an ocean swim at Grants Beach, North Haven, as part of their annual competition evaluation. This ensures they meet the safety standards needed to participate in carnivals.
Swim Ability
Swimming plays a big role in surf lifesaving. While speed isn't required, being confident in the water is essential. If your child struggles with swimming, we highly recommend using your Active Kids voucher for swimming lessons or squad programs at a local pool.
SUNDAYS
Nippers starts at 9:30 AM every second Sunday, and we’d love your help! Whether it's setting up, packing away, managing age groups, helping with the BBQ, fundraising, or providing water safety and first aid—there’s a role for everyone.
Interested in water safety? Contact us to get started—training is provided. Many hands make light work!
FRIDAY BOARD TRAINING
Every second Friday, at 4:30pm, we hold board training in the calm waters of the Camden Haven River, near the community hall. This helps with balance, using rescue boards, and paddling skills.
COMMUNICATION
All updates regarding Nippers will be posted on our Facebook page. Bulk emails and SMS texts will also be sent out to members for important information. Please reach out to our Junior Activities Coordinator, Nicole Crowe, or any committee member if you have any ideas or need any information - we encourage open communication.
